Getting Pregnant To-Do List

I wish this post could be to announce that my husband and I are officially TTC but it's not. Instead it's just a glimpse at what's on my to-do list before we start trying. It feels so far away but it's actually only 2 months now.

1) Kick the soda habit I started while in Bolivia
2) Look further into our health insurance policy
3) Figure out how to properly track my ovulation
4) Find a townhome or apartment we both like to move into when we get back to the states
5) Meet with an ob/gyn to talk about fertility (because of past health problems this is a must)
6) Actually find and ob/gyn that I like (mine moved to another state)

Another thing that is extremely important to me is to be as fit as possible before I get pregnant so I have been trying to be more physically active.

Is there anything you think I should consider that is not on my list?

  1. Hi Eliza! This book is from the "What to expect series" but is all the stuff to check into before ttc. So far I have found it VERY informative for us. Hope this helps you too :-)

  3. I just found your blog through the bump website and we seem to be in similar situations. My husband and I were married in July '09 and plan on starting TTC in March. I'm thinking about what I need to do now before TTC. Your list is similar to mine but here are some additional things (you may already know these!)
*Take vitamins with folic acid (my dr. said for now that just regular vitamins with 400 mg of folic acid are good)
*Get any dental stuff taken care of. I guess your teeth get worse with pregnancy? I don't know why I was told this one but I'm doing it.
*Make sure to get into as many routines as possible (checkbook routine, household chore routine, exercise routine, etc.) When preg. or with a baby, you want to have all these as stress free as possible.
    Hope that helps!

  4. Thanks! I've heard a lot of these before but I really like the one about getting into routines. I can definitely see how important it is to establish some before having a baby.
