Pregnancy Update: Week 16

It feels like a decade has passed since I've been online to blog. I had a long week last week and just decided to let myself relax a little. One update is that we moved! It was hard work (especially while pregnant) but my husband and his brother did all the hard work while I focused on packing and unpacking. Moving to a new place can be fun but I HATE seeing boxes and unfinished work lying around so I was hard at work trying to get everything done before heading back to work today.

My Baby: Our little miracle is the seize of an avacodo and some things I've read say that baby can probably hear loud noises by now. The amount of talking/singing Phillip has been doing to my belly has tripled. I don't mind. I want this baby to know his/her daddy's voice.

Symptoms: I have been experiencing the kind of back pain I thought I wouldn't feel until the baby was atleast a couple of pounds. My energy levels were pretty lowwww last week but today I woke up feeling so great I had to keep reminding myself that I am indeed pregnant.

It's amazing how unsettling, feeling good can make you feel. I'll explain. For my first trimester I dealt with a bunch of nausea, fatigue and more nausea. While it was unpleasant to say the least, it was comforting to know that my baby was getting what he or she needed to grow. I guess I'll just have to wait til those kicks get stronger and more frequent to have the peace of mind that my little one is still hanging on and thriving.

Weight: I don't know how to word this without making me wince a bit. I'm up somwhere between 6.5 lbs to 8 lbs since pre-pregnancy weight. I feel like it's coming on way too fast! But... I also don't feel like counting calories. I guess I'll just keep focusing on making my choices as healthy as possible.

So there you have it. My first pregnancy update in weeks :shakes head:. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are off to a good start this Monday!

  1. I remember panicking one day because I felt so great, and then I realized I was 14 weeks pregnant. My symptons were pretty by the book too. I do remember being uncomfortable in the weeks before I felt the baby move and no longer feeling symptons, also, proably becasue it was my first baby and I didn't know what I was really feeling I really didn't feel the baby move till about 21 weeks. My OBGYN told me a great story that she too did not feel her baby till about then and she would spend her breaks giving herself fetal stress tests becasue she would panic, that made me feel better!! Take care!!
