Oh The Places He'll Sleep...

Last night Phillip and I were looking around at our sons (almost) complete nursery along with some of the gifts we've received from our showers when we realized something.

My husband paused and looked at me before saying, "how many things do we need for him to sleep in?".

This kid has a TON of places to sleep. Do these tiny people really need so many options? Probably not. I think most parents would agree that all of these "essentials" are more for the parents than the child.

We feel so blessed to have so many generous family members and friends. I don't think we have a single item left that we need besides the things I'm still doing research on.

Do you think we'll get use out of all of these items?

  1. Ha ha! This post made me laugh...isn't it amazing how much stuff they accumulate before they are even born? It just keeps getting worse, you wouldn't believe how much stuff we have, now, with a seven year old and 11 month old. The answer to your question: you will probably use each of them a couple of times in the beginning then realize that one or two work best for you and the others will be neglected. We have a beautiful bassinet that my parents bought us that my son has slept in exactly two times! Oh well! I love your blog, good luck with your beautiful little one!

    1. The funny thing is that it feels like he has more stuff than we do. And he's not even here yet lol. Thanks for the comment! :)

  4. My sister is the same way (she has a 3 year old & an 11 month old), and I think she ended up using only a couple of them as well lol

    Your nursery looks beautiful though!

  5. By this time....I hope you've found the Rock N Play to be such a nice item. We've loved being able to take our daughter on over night trips and not have to lug the PnP. I was kinda sad when she out grew it development wise. But I figured if she could roll a 360 in the sucker and nearly escape....it was time to put it in the garage. I look forward to it's return in January though :)
