Maternity Photo Shoot Plans

I'm 31 weeks and 6 days pregnant today. As my pregnancy gets closer and closer to ending I am planning out my maternity pictures.  I've always loved looking at maternity pics and I'm so excited to soon be the one in front of the lens. I'm even more excited now because my favorite photographer will be doing them. She's the person behind these pictures that we did for my parents anniversary a little over a year ago.

I didn't realize how hard it would be to pick a location, style and wardrobe for these pictures. I want it to be perfect and reflect our emotions and excitement for our baby boy. After much thinking I've decided what I want. The location will be dowtown Winter Park (if it works for the photographer). The setting is just beautiful and it's a place that brings back a lot of memories for me.

Wardrobe: I'm going to keep it simple. Great fitting jeans (if I can find a pair) and a cotton shirt. And since I just have to switch my outfit out (it's what I do) I'm hoping to take some pictures with something a little more trendy (her idea) but not over the top. Did you get all that? Simple but not too simple lol.

Style: I love pictures with simple poses. Mama lying on her back with belly showing, mom and dad looking into eachothers eyes, etc.

So those are my plans. I cannot wait to do our pictures! I found some great inspiration at On To Baby if you love looking at maternity photos too. And if you have any ideas, please share.

Happy Friday!

  1. YAY I loved our maternity shoot *almost* as much as our newborn shoot. We had a fantastic photographer who made sure we were natural and not too "posey." We also did one outfit change: I wore a blue linen dress (it was the middle of may) and Carl wore jeans and a button down in the first series, then I wore a little baby pink dress and he wore a tie and slacks. We did both at a nearby park, but the dressier pics were taken at, belive it or not, a parking garage! It's a really nice, industrial looking space and I think the pics came out beautifully.

You can see them on my Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.784532453620.2270228.10907241&type=1

    Good luck and have fun!!
