Last Week We Celebrated Us

May 10th was our 4 year anniversary. 4 years from the day I married my best friend and the person I trust most in the world. It was not our typical anniversary celebration. Year one we went to a resort in Naples, Fl. Year two we went to the Gaylord Palms in Orlando and followed it up with a week in Mexico and year three we were in Bolivia. This year was different. We didn't do a fancy restaurant or hotel. We didn't get on a plane. Instead we spent the evening at home with our favorite little person. I cooked, we talked over dinner about where life has brought us. From two 17 year olds eager to spend a moment together, to two 20 year olds holding hands as we said our vows. To Bolivia and back. And now, to two parents who are beyond in love with our son.

One thing that our 3 anniversaries had in common? Each time we discussed what the next year might hold. And every time it went a little something like this... "Maybe next year we'll have a baby at the table"... "Yes, maybe next year..."

Well here we are... next year. This anniverary may not have been as fancy. I didn't get quite as dolled up, I left the make up brushes in their case and my shoes were left in the closet but one thing I can say is that this was by far the best anniversary yet.

Here's to us babe. The three of us.
