A little update

Last week I posted a picture of myself at the hospital leaving a lot to be imagined. I haven't done an update since so I thought it was only right to do one sooner than later. That picture was taken after we were sent from my Doctors Office to get some tests done. Baby boy had a VERY high heart rate and I had just been through 7 hours of crazy, intense contractions. My contractions were still about 3 minutes apart at the Doctors office so off we went. My Doctor made it very clear. Either we get his heart rate down or we would need an emergency C-section. Those words. I'm not exactly sure how I felt in that moment. Scared? Yes. But also, for the first time ever, the idea of a non natural birth was okay with me. All I wanted was for my son to be healthy. And the reality that he may have not been, all I could do was cry on my way there.

^^ me as of 3ish hours ago. 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant. ^^

At the same time, I was excited and ready to meet our son. I wanted him out if being in my belly was hurting him in any way. As you can see in the picture above, I'm still very pregnant. Happily so since that means he took a turn for the better. We were able to get his heart rate down and every test they ran came back good.

I stayed overnight for observation. My first night ever away from Cruze. It was hard but I knew that it had to be done. By the next morning, my sweet baby was doing well enough for me to go home. As for those crazy contractions. They pushed me to 4 cm and then.... my labor just stopped. Weird right? But again, I'm not complaining. He had more cooking to do and we were okay with that.

So right now all we can do is wait. And prepare. And bond with Cruze as much as we can while he is still an only child. Oh and try to rest, because let's be honest here, once this baby is born we will be wishing for a full nights rest. I'm so grateful that things turned around last week. So grateful. And even more grateful for what's to come (soon right?).

Thanks for all the instagram love. It truly means soooo much to me.

  1. So scary when things are going haywire and you have little to no control over it and you just worry worry. I'm glad things stabilized! Prayers sent and fingers crossed that things are smooth until he comes.
